ABOUT THE COURSE

The Institute of Polish Language and Culture for Foreigners of Jagiellonian University organizes every semester Polish course for ERASMUS+ students, foreigners who are studying in Krakow universities, as well as those who are in Krakow doing work apprenticeships or PhD research.

Course description: It is a general course. Participants develop and practice all the language skills, i.e., speaking, reading, listening, and writing. They also acquire and master grammar and new vocabulary. The course program is always adapted to the needs of the participants and their language level which is determined on the basis of placement test - we offer classes at all language levels (A1–C2). Classes are in small groups and are held by qualified teachers who are graduates of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. At the end of the course there is a written and oral exam.

Date of the course in the second semester 2023/2024: March 11, 2024 - June 14, 2024

Application period: February 19, 2024 – March 1, 2024

Payment deadline: March 4, 2024

The price for a course in one semester is: 

850,00 PLN – for the Jagiellonian University students
950,00 PLN – for students from other universities 
 
Number of hours: course consists of 60 academic hours of Polish (1 academic hour = 45 minutes).
 
Classes: two meetings per week, equalling 5 academic hours per week. The schedule will be agreed upon by the students and the teacher during the first class.
 
A minimum number of participants: In order for us to open a course, a minimum of 8 participants must be enrolled in a given level. 
 
Form of classes: in-class.
 
Place of in-class course: School of Polish Language and Culture, Romana Ingardena 3 str., 30-060 Krakow or Grodzka 64 str, 31-044 Krakow. 
 

ECTS points and language certificate:
The Language Certificate and 6 ECTS can be obtained by a person who received a positive result from the final exam.
