WINTER WITH POLISH LANGUAGE 2024

We would like to invite you to two intensive two-week courses of the Polish language at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow within the program called "Winter with Polish Language" 2024.

Course description: It is a general course. Participants develop and practice all the language skills, i.e., speaking, reading, listening, and writing. They also acquire and master grammar and new vocabulary. The course program is always adapted to the needs of the participants and their language level which is determined on the basis of placement test held on the Open UJ platform as well as the talk with the teacher on the first day of classes. 

Dates:

  • Session I: January 29th – February 9th, 2024 / Application deadline: January 15th, 2024 / Payment deadline: January 22nd, 2024
  • Session II: February 12th – 23rd, 2024 / Application deadline: January 29th, 2024 / Payment deadline: February 5th, 2024

The price of one session: PLN 1.750,00. 

To enroll in the course, you are asked to: 

  1. Read the course information on the School’s website.
  2. Fill in an online Application Form with the following attachments: Consent to the processing of personal data, Course Regulation "Winter with Polish Language 2024" and Consent to the sending information. Then, the School sends you a completed document in PDF format. You are asked to print it out, sign and send it back as a scan to the following e-mail address: plschool@uj.edu.pl 
  3. Take a placement test – if applicable. When School receives your Application Form, the further information about the placement test will be sent to you.
  4. Make a payment for a course. 

Confirmation of acceptance and any further information will be sent to you by e-mail.

Number of lessons: each session consists of 50 lessons of Polish language (1 lesson = 45 minutes).

Classes: will be held Monday thru Friday, 5 academic hours a day, 9:00-13:15 Polish time. Class hours can be changed.

A minimum number of participants: In order for us to open a course, a minimum of 5 participants must be enrolled in a given level. 

IMPORTANT: Please be aware that we will be able to confirm the availability of classes at your level approx. 1 week before the course starts.

Form of classes: in-class or online. In the Application Form, indicate the preferred form of teaching.

Place of in-class course: School of Polish Language and Culture, Romana Ingardena 3 str., 30-060 Krakow.

Forms of payment:
You can make a payment:

  • by bank transfer,
  • pay by card directly at the School's Accounting Office (3 Romana Ingardena str., 30-060 Krakow, room no. 139),
  • or authorize the School to bill your credit/debit card by filling in the authorization form sent at the enrolment stage.  

School does not accept payment in cash.
Please remember that all bank charges should be covered by the participant.
Lack of payment will result in the removal of a participant from the list

Placement test: in order to determine the level of language proficiency and qualify for the appropriate language level, the participant takes a mandatory placement test, which is conducted before the start of the program.
The placement test consists of two parts:

  • Written - online on the Open UJ platform. A link to the placement test is sent at the stage of registration for the course in an e-mail confirming acceptance of the application.
  • Oral - remotely. 

ECTS Points, Language Certificate, Certificate of Participation: 
A Language Certificate and 3 ECTS can be obtained by a person who received a positive result from the final exam.
In other situations, students can only receive a Certificate of Participation in the course.
