Bloomsburg University Program in Krakow

The closing ceremony of the 2017/2018 program, organized for Bloomsburg University, Pennsylvania, from December 27, 2017, through January 13, 2018, by the Jagiellonian University School of Polish Language and Culture, was held in the magnificent Collegium Maius Auditorium on Friday January 12, 2018. The event was hosted by Prof. dr. hab. Adam Jelonek, the Jagiellonian University Rector’s Proxy for Internationalisation. Students received their Certificates of Attendance, Jagiellonian University pins as well as T-shirts bearing the logo of the School of Polish Language and Culture. Following the official ceremony, the students toured the Museum.
The program itself, consisting of four courses – “Jews of Europe”, “East European Film, Literature, and Culture”, “Introduction to Politics and International Relations: Central and Eastern European Context”, and “Post-Communist Transformations in Eastern and Central Europe” – was organized for the fifth time by Dr. Mykola Polyuha, its initiator and coordinator, with very good prospects for continuation in the future, and for significant expansion in the number of participants. Students seemed satisfied with the program – some are already planning to return and enroll in new courses offered by the Jagiellonian University.
